Life at Lancemade: July 2026

Hello everyone! 😊

I am starting the month with a length check.

My hair-oiling days have been lately irregular, with me working on  Longeviti.

However, it is incredibly rewarding to see the volume still hold up. I think what I'm seeing today is the result of last year's consistency. From this month, I will be at least micro-oiling my scalp once a week if I cannot do 2 deep treatments with Longeviti.

Since 2026 began, I've not been paying much attention to my hair. I was working on redoing the entire packaging of our signature product, which I wanted to do on my own rather than outsource. This brand has been a personal passion of mine for over a decade. I poured my heart into building its foundations during my most active blogging days from 2013 to 2017. It feels lovely to write again, though quite the majority moved from long-form content lately.

I have chosen this small rectangular bottle for our discovery size. The signature size remains the same. It is already a custom bottle we made for the brand about seven years ago. The reason I am not switching to glass for the bigger size is that people often tell me it is not travel-friendly, so we use recycled plastic for now. To reduce plastic usage, you can order a discovery size (which is also travel-friendly with a pretty dropper) and a refill pack, so it saves you much time reordering. 😊

Did you notice the name Longeviti on our product page?
I applied for a trademark in June ♥︎

I've always been drawn to things that age beautifully. Furniture, books, gardens, and of course, hair. That's where the name Longeviti came from. I'd wanted a range name for a long time, should I be introducing more formulas under it? It felt less like naming a product and more like giving a name to a philosophy I'd been following for years without realizing it. I, like my mother, believe in scalp care that focuses on hair longevity.

On another note, international shipping was on pause for a while due to the global shipping crisis, but I think we are good now. I need to make the upcoming batch a bit bigger.

Quick question.

As a founder, I always wonder: Is there a product you wish your hair had? I particularly enjoy formulating water-less products. I believe they are among the best approaches for sensitive skin and long-term skin and hair care. The moment I add water, a preservative becomes necessary, so unless it is truly needed, I prefer to avoid it.

That is one of the reasons we stayed with a single-signature product for so many years, even though my existing customers had been encouraging me to make cleansers, conditioners, and masques. Lately, I've been reaching out to many of them personally, asking what they truly need. I feel like formulating again, but only if it genuinely adds value to your hair journey.

If there's something you've always wished existed, I'd love to hear from you. Please share in the comments below or write to me directly at letters@lancemade.com

As I write this blog post, there's this new fountain running next to my workspace. I could happily spend my entire workday listening to the sound of running water.

I am setting up the next one in our stock room.♥︎

I wish you all a beautiful July! 😊

(I am yet to upload pictures for this blog post, will soon do! :)
